CoS - World Environment Day Film Nights 4-5 June

Celebrate World Environment Day this June with the City of sydney’s Film Nights at the Chauvel Cinema, Paddington.

Featuring two inspiring movies - about cycling and the oil industry - the film nights aim to engage you on the issues of transport and environment - to help develop a vision for our City that will ensure a sustainable future. Join in discussions after the film about the kind of Sydney you want to see in 20 years time.

Monday June 4 - Detour De France
Three Aussie larrikins follow the Tour De France ‘05 and get up close and personal with luminaries including Lance Armstrong and celebrity spectators such as singer Sheryl Crow and director Ron Howard. Never before have you seen cycling action like this, both on and off the road!

Accompanying the main feature will be a vintage educational film about bicycle safety. Drinks, canapés and conversation follow the films.

Tuesday June 5 - A Crude Awakening: the Oil Crash Movie
This fascinating film is guaranteed to make you think. An award-winning documentary on the oil industry and the incredible impact it has on the global economy, industry and the environment.
