The Sydney leg of the International Bicycle Film Festival will be held  from 1-30 November 2008.

We’re still finalising details but the run-down of events will go something like this…

Road: Art, craft, design exhibition | Nov 1-Nov 30
Velo inspired art and design across seven art spaces and social rides encompassing more than 25 galleries.

Bikes on Show | Sun Nov 9 | Newtown Festival, Camperdown Memorial Park, Newtown
Spectacular trial riding skills by Sydney Trials and the National Unicycle Association. Bike art space. Free information about riding in the inner west and city. Free bike valet parking.

Bike Love Street Parade | Thu Nov 13 | King Street, Newtown
A street celebration of cycling with heritage bikes, custom made bikes, recreational cyclists, cycling clubs and other people who just love their bikes.  Join us!

Bikes Rock | Thu Nov 13 | Sydney Park, St Peters
The Bikes Rock party gathers the cycling tribes in celebration. This year the party will incorporate bike polo and unicycle hockey demonstrations, bands and a showing of short films form the Bicycle Film Festival. Free bike valet parking.

International Bicycle Film Festival | Fri Nov 14 + Sat Nov 15 | Dendy Cinemas, Newtown
The Bicycle Film Festival shows to audiences across the US, Europe and Asia before setting down in Sydney. The films, including shorts, documentaries and feature films, showcase cycling across the globe. Free bike valet parking.

Bikes for Transport Picnic | Sunday Nov 16 | Pyrmont
Bring a picnic and wind-down in the park with Sydney’s inaugural bike polo championships and roller races.

If you yearn to lure others into the cult of bike love, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for volunteers to help bring the festival to Sydney.

Planning meetings are held in Newtown every second Monday - 6:30 til 8 pm. Check out the events calendar for details of the next meeting.
