Ride of Silence - May 24
You should be aware that the Ride of Silence is Saturday week, May 24 from 10:00 at the Archibald Fountain in Hyde Park. The route goes through the
CBD and then through the inner east and west, finishing at Parliament House for a wreath laying ceremony. Given recent events and the gain in
momentum, it is imperative that we all attend and bring as many of our mates along as humanely possible.
Volunteers Needed
We need some help from volunteers to act as marshals (sort of) on the day to keep the ride together. We need to keep the tail moving along and to
prevent the front from riding off into the distance. You’ll get to wear a pretty safety vest with a ROS logo.
We also need some “official” photographers. We have one (thanks Phuong) but we’d like a couple more.
We need wreaths, so either make one or have whip around and get one from local florist.
If you can help with either of the above, email me.
Flyers and posters can be downloaded from the NRCA’s site:
http://www.mynrca.com.au/ros.html
Print and distribute to all an sundry.
Spread the word! We want all cyclists there, including commuters, rec riders, weekend warriors, roadies and mountain bikers.

2006 BikeSydney Summer Solstice Ride
22nd Dec at 1.30am (Thurs nite/Fri Morning)
Bike Sydney are holding the 2nd BikeSydney Summer Solstice Ride.Celebrate the longest day of the year by joining us for a unique event - the 2nd BikeSydney Summer Solstice Ride.
The ride is back. After the fantastic 2005 Summer Solstice bike ride, we decided we MUST do it again.
This time the ride is to South Head - The Hornby Lighthouse above Watsons Bay.
Date: Friday 22nd Dec (so catch a bit of an early nite
Thursday and get some sleep and set that alarm clock)
Time: 1.00am (Friday morning) for a 1.30am depart.
Location: Martin Place - near the Cenotaph
The ride itself will take in lots of fantastic water views, some sneaky bike paths and undiscovered parts of Sydney.
So charge those batteries (and bring spares), bring that puncture kit and some food for the ride (depending on what is open we may be able to get something to eat).
As a bit of a theme this year - wear something Red or put some tinsel on your bike.
Also we will need to ride out of Watsons bay as the ferry from there does not start until 10.30am. The ferry at Rose Bay starts at 6.00am. 22nd Dec at 1.30am (Thurs nite/Fri Morning)
