What we’ve done

We met with the President of fellow Bike User Group CAMWEST to discuss the possibility of extending the reach of Bike Valet Parking to Parramatta and surrounding regions.
Monday 10 December: Meeting with Member for Sydney, Alex Greenwich
BIKESydney introduced itself to Alex Greenwich, the State Member for the seat of Sydney. Outcomes from the meeting included securing Alex’s agreement to write to the Health Minister (Jillian Skinner) to have her acknowledge the contribution cycling makes to the health of people in NSW, and to champion the formation of a cross-party Cycling Alliance within State Parliament.
Monday 10 December: Submission to the Proposed re-development of the Balmain Leagues Club
BIKESydney opposes the scale of traffic and car parking introduced by the proposal and notes its lack of cycling provision. Read our submission here.
Tuesday 4 December: City of Sydney Community Grants Program
We met with the City of Sydney to scope ways in which the community could be encouraged to have their own bike-focused programs funded by the City.
