Learning to ride

Starting out

If you’re an adult and want to learn to ride, you’re not alone. ┬áPeople of all ages can learn to ride and once you’re steady on your wheels you’ll find lots of fun places to ride to develop your skills and confidence.

If you’ve never ridden a bike we suggest taking some one-on-one lessons with an accredited trainer. They’ll have you riding in no time.

Building confidence

The City of Sydney is running free Cycling in the City courses for people aged 18 years and over. The group courses are designed to build your confidence to ride on the city streets.

Bike Wise provides three levels of training to build on-road confidence and skills. They can provide training for groups or one-on-one.

Bike North’s program Bike for Life teaches adults cycling skills and teams participants up with a coach for three social rides. Their courses are held in Meadowbank.
